The weekend of the light house on the air came around and saw members of the club setting up our station at the Needles Old Battery, all the packing and checking was done on the Thursday and we meet at the Battery at 8.30am, thanks to Paul M0PBN for bringing the caravan. The set up was quick and easy and we were lucky the weather stayed dry, we were up and running on HF by about 9.30am. On Saturday the contacts on HF where mainly into Europe but two were very good contacts one into new found land and the other into long Island New York these were all on twenty and we had a good pile up waiting to work us. The Sunday was mainly inter - G and there was a request for a contact via CW, Ricky M0CGO brought out his paddle and obliged. |
