GB0NOB Weekend of the Seas, at the Old Needles Battery on the 19th/20th August 2006. Once again we were operating from the Club Caravan, we worked 248 stations over the two days. We worked 20 40 & 80 Mtrs, On 20 Mtrs we work as far a field as Canada & the USA. We were working a considerable 'pile up' most of the time. Many attracted by the Special Event call-sign GB0NOB and the unique WAB Square, SZ28. Again during the course of the afternoon, the wind freshened considerably, to such an extent that it became a danger that we could be soon operating ' Maritime Mobile' after being blown into the sea ! Unfortunately, we still had many stations calling us that were never able to work because we had to go QRT. Many thanks to all who worked us. |
