Brickfields Amateur Radio Society celebrate 25 years on the 13th March 2010 |
|
Members and guests met at Brickfields Equestrian Centre on Saturday 13th March 2010 to celebrate the Society’s 25th Anniversary. The club was actually formed in 1984, but the club callsign G0BAR was first issued 25 years earlier to the exact day. A buffet lunch was provided for sixty people, amongst them two founder members of the club. David G0VZV baked a celebration cake depicting a special event station based on a club theme, and presentations were made to Mary Legge, whose late husband Phil provided greatly over the years for the club, and Ruth Wealthy whose late husband Les G0IMM was, until recently, our oldest member. A table-top sale in the Meeting Room helped to raise club funds and the activation of the special event station GB4BAR was an additional attraction which worked nearly two hundred stations across the world during the weekend. A group photograph was taken by George G3JLN, President of Brickfields ARS to commemorate the event. |
